How long For Bad Tan to Fade

So I went hiking and didn't put sunscreen on my face. My forehead is really big so it turned more brown than the rest of my face. Lol. It's not too dark, but you can notice the difference in shade. How long until it fades? Any tips on how to make it fade faster. And yes I knw, I need to use sunscreen lol.
