Sleeping
My 4 week old will not sleep in her bassinet for longer than 20-60 minutes the past 5 nights. She has never been a great sleeper in there but lately it seems as soon as she realizes she's not on me or dad, she begins to cry. It then takes several minutes to calm her before she will go down again. This repeated many time through the night is quite tiring for all of us. We are swaddling and using the 5 S's soothing techniques.
I've slept a couple times with her in our nursing chair and made sure she was secure in my arms and my arms were supported so she would not fall. No blankets around her. This was the only way to get sleep- but of course I know it's not recommended due to SIDS risk.
Any suggestions from others who have experienced this? Or just tell me it's normal, a phase and we will get through it?
