Graduation

So I'm graduating this year from high school and my boyfriend is still a junior. However, his best friend is also gradationing with me. So he told me that he's just going to sit with his friends family Instead of mine. 
I don't know if I'm being irrational in being upset or not. 
Would you be upset if your boyfriend didn't sit with your family on graduation, and sat with his friends family instead?
