My son and his fox.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant and have a 3 year old son. We told him about the baby from the very beginning and made him aware that he's going to have a little sister soon. He sees that I'm growing and we told him she's in my belly and he will meet her when she's big enough. (That was the extent of our conversation). He's felt her kick and thinks it is SOOO cool. He has never been negative about her or gotten upset over having a sibling. Since we told him, he's gotten this attachment to this stuffed fox. He's had it for a while, but now he takes it EVERYWHERE. The other day he was in his room and was hiding behind his bed. I stepped into his room and asked what he was doing and he jumped up and said 'nothing!' I didn't see what he was doing so I left it alone. Today he was in his room and I just peeked in and saw he was carrying around his stuffed fox in his shirt. I talked to him and told him he's not in trouble and he doesn't need to hide stuff from me. He told me that the fox is his baby and he has to take care of him. I thought it was sweet but when I told my husband he was so negative about it. I don't see any harm in it, but he thinks it's not good for a boy to play like that. What do I do? Just not say anything to him anymore? Our son is quite sensitive and I don't want to damage his spirit in any way. And I don't want my husband to be hateful about it to him..
