Sadly, this happened to my cousin. The only sign she had was that she hadn't felt her daughter move in awhile, which prompted her to see her doctor.

Decreased/absent fetal movement. So if you feel a decrease IMMEDIATELY contact your provider. 
I've been a labor and delivery nurse for 10+ years and I've seen SB at all gestational ages. It's really a sad thing and now the thing I fear the worst. 😕 I get peace of mind knowing I'll keep all my OB appointments and NSTs/BPPs so hopefully they'll catch something before it's a SB.

I'd like to add unless you have an anterior placenta.. I'm 32 weeks and can go days without feeling my LO move and he's absolutely fine. My placenta literally cushions I'd say 90% of my stomach.  I can only feel when he kicks my cervix or sticks a foot out of my side. I've been to labor and delivery twice and the monitors can pick him up going crazy in there but I feel absolutely nothing.
