Alcohol & early pregnancy..?

Question

Before I found out I was pregnant I was around 3 weeks I suppose when my fiancé turned 21 and we had been drinking together-- before I found out I was pregnant. I have not told my OB since I'm under 21 and should not have been drinking anyways-- shame on me, yes. I'm just wondering what the chances are that the baby was harmed at that time? I'm currently about 11 weeks. Thanks!

You should be honest with your doctor even though you are under age.  It's their job to give you the best care and they can't do that if you are keeping secrets! I have always been honest with my doctors about smoking weed,  they aren't going to call the cops on you they just need to have as much information as possible.

I found out I was 3 weeks pregnant right after my birthday. I'm born on St Patty's day so I was definitely drunk. Everything is fine so far. I'm 13 weeks. I know a lot of people who did the same and they all have very healthy children.

You should be honest with Dr so you don't worry. But I promise your little one is fine. I doubt any harm has been done. I didn't find out until I was 6 weeks pregnant and I was drinking, smoking weed & cigrattes almost every day, of course I quit everything as soon as I found out. I had a perfect pregnancy and my baby is now 6 weeks old and perfectly healthy!!! :) don't worry girl!

Most people actually don't know they're pregnant til 6 weeks and have drank until then! No worries, but tell your doc. Start with an open relationship with them

I would say you are fine and baby to. Plenty of people have drinks prior to finding out they are expecting. As long as you have steered clear since finding out you are expecting I'd say you are good to go😊

I didn't know I was pregnant till I was about 1 month or so and I was drinking everyother weekend and my son is perfectly okay! I mean I did stop once I found out of course. He is 7 months and is always smiling!

I celebrated my 21st (so got completely blacked out) when I was about 3 weeks (before I knew) and when I told my dr he asked what I had after that I said one shot, he said that I should be fine, and so far my baby is completely healthy! Just don't do it anymore of course! And if ANYTHING seems out of place AT ALL double check! Your dr should know, they won't judge as much as you think, promise, it's common! So many people drink underage. 😊

I doubt it. Same happened with me. I was drinking/smoking then when my hangover didn't go away I took a test and found out I was pregnant. I went out on a Saturday and on Monday is when I found out. I told my dr and he said it was okay since the baby was so small (I was 5 weeks at the time). That was almost 4 years ago. As long as it's not constant and you stopped, baby should be fine.

I was 12 weeks when I found out I was pregnant and I went to a hemp fest about a month before and did some crazy things, I let my doctor know and yea I'm under the age of 21 but she didn't discourage me.. You can't be hard on yourself when you had no idea you were pregnant! Just learn from it :) I'm now 37 weeks with a healthy baby girl !!
