Car seats

For sake of preparedness I put the twins car seats in my car and attempted to get behind the wheel and drive.... Epic fail. With the car seats laying flat I barely fit behind the wheel. My husband is very tall and he can't fit either. I'm wondering if I will be able to fit after delivery better. I love my car and don't want to trade it for something bigger but I may have to. As long as I can fit to drive to take them to their first checkup I guess I would be ok right?  Have any of you ran into this problem?
