Who has had a natural birth?

I'm considering going natural and wanna hear your stories! My first labor was ridiculously fast and easy and painless thanks to my epidural. This time I really wanna do it at a birth center instead of a hospital but am just afraid of the pain. I'm 33 weeks and have to tell my midwife my decision on tuesday!

Had epidural and csection with my first. I want a home birth with my second. I've read awesome stories but also know it's notfor everyone. I've gotta find out something about being a good candidate, according to midwife...stitching type and uterus location

My second was born naturally, though not by choice :-)  My water broke (though I didn't realize it at the time) at 8 pm. I immediately started having strong contractions about 10 minutes apart.  I was trying to wait for them to be 5 minutes apart but finally gave in and headed for the hospital at about 1:30.  When I decided to leave, my contractions dropped from 7 minutes apart to 3 minutes apart, no in between. On the drive to the hospital I was making inhuman noises and praying we made it in time for drugs. By the time we got close I was praying the baby didn't come out in the car.  They put me in the wheelchair and we're trying to check me in and I kept yelling at them that I needed to push.  They got me up on a bed and checked me and said, oh you're fully dilated. I was like no sh**, that's what I'm trying to tell you.  60 seconds later my 9lb3oz baby with shoulder dystocia was delivered, at 2 am.  I know I tore but I don't know how badly. I just remember a burning feeling when I was pushing, which just made me push harder to get it over with.  The next day I noticed burst blood vessels all over my face and neck. LOL

I was induced and had a partially failed epidural with my first. Labor and delivery took 15 hours. I was nauseous and couldn't walk for hours. I will be trying to go all natural again with this one.

Did it twice without an epidural. IF YOU ARE TENSE IT IS PURE TORTURE. If you are riding the waves of your contractions, focusing on the work they are doing (I pictured a flower opening) and work on being completely and totally relaxed you will be fine!! Start doing meditation now. Practice makes perfect. I had my second baby with pressure but no pain. She was born with the bag of waters which definitely helps because it cushions where the head is bearing down. You can do it!! Put your mind to it!

I'm a ftm and I went with a natural hospital birth (we don't have any birth centres here unfortunately.) I have absolutely no regrets. I told myself that I would inform myself of all my options and if I decide to change my mind at the last minute then there was nothing wrong with that.

My labour and delivery was about 5 hours total. I used a TENS machine that our midwife provided and that definitely helped me a lot. I also am a sucker for pain, I cry when I get a paper cut and I panic when I'm getting a needle but I knew that I was able to do this.

It hurt, a lot but not more than I could handle. I just kept myself focused, cried a little bit, took lots of deep breaths, and turned to my support team (SO and midwife) whenever I could.

I hope that helps a little bit, I didn't want to go into too much detail. Also, I'll add that I'm in my early 20s too if that helps at all!

I've done it twice and am planning to again. It is incredibly intense, and yes, I found it to be very painful, but also so exhilarating and...I don't even know how to describe it!  I just find it to be a really incredible experience, feeling what your body is doing to birth your baby.  Maybe part of it is also the contrast between the pain and the exhaustion and then feeling your baby enter the world and holding him/her...it's just amazing :)

I had a home birth with my first and I'm planning on doing it again. My son came quiet fast as I had back labour and did not know I was in labour until I threw up during transition. He was born 2 hours later. I for sure had moments of "Oh crap why did I do this!?" But they passed and he came after 20 min of pushing.
