This doesn't really have to do with TTC with anxiety (although I am having difficulties conceiving) but I didn't know where else to put it. I have anxiety disorder and something scary has happened to me tonight, and I was wondering if anyone else experienced something like this. I took an adderall because it gives me energy to get stuff done. I only do it once in a while, because if I take too much, it makes me have difficulty catching my breath. So the adderall was wearing off and I was starting to feel a little crappy so I took half a small Xanax to relax. Well 20 minutes later my breathing got really difficult. My chest felt extremely tight, light I was in a harness and no matter how deep of a breath I tried to rise, the air wouldn't enter my lungs. I couldn't yawn. Then my face started to get pins and needles on my cheeks. Then it spread to my whole face. I looked in the mirror and my one side of my mouth was dropping and it was almost as if my mouth muscles were contracting. Like if I tried to open my mouth, it would try to close and my lips were turning inward. So I could barely talk because my mouth wouldn't open much. My one eye was half shut, and both eyes and my whole face were twitching fast. Then as I got up again the pins and needles spread to my whole body. I was two minutes away from making my bf take me to the hospital. I've taken adderall and Xanax together before. This has never happened. And it happened when I took half the Xanax, which, if anything, should've helped my anxiety. I didn't have any alcohol either. I did a drug search to make sure it really was a Xanax and it was. Needless to say I will not be taking either drug anymore, but im curious to know if my symptoms had nothing to do with the pills, and maybe I could've had a panic attack. I know a panic attack closely resembles a heart attack, and this almost resembled a stroke in a few ways in that half my face was dropping, I couldn't talk, I felt numb etc. I've been researching all night, but if anyone who suffers from anxiety has had a panic attack with similar symptoms please let me know because I'm really freaking out. The symptoms subsided after about 15 mins but I'm still having trouble breathing. Thank you in advance for any help or advice.
