Cervix checks painful?

Anyone else find the cervix check to be painful? Not just uncomfortable but painful? I had my first one today at 36 weeks and it hurt like hell. Now I'm scared for labor and seriously questioning if I'm going to get through this delivery!

Yup with my first it was painful, then when I thought my waters had broken they did the same type thing to check if it had (it didn't) and I had no idea how I would go through labour . The different is, your baby is flowing OUT , and your body works with you! You'll be amazed when you realise how much your body works with you during labour, esp when it's pushing this baby out and you can't stop it for your life, but it's much easier/less painful giving birth then having people put hands/items in your vagina :)

I found it to be painful too. I also felt the same way-- how am I going to handle childbirth lol?!?

It was sooooooooo painful!! I asked to be checked at 33 weeks just to see if anything was happening since I had been cramping/having pressure. I will NEVER request to be checked again. Lol. I wasn't dilated at all so maybe that's why it hurt so bad but man oh man!!

I've gotten about 7 cervix checks through out this pregnancy and it always hurts so dam bad! Not sure if it's normal lol

More uncomfortable than anything for me. I made myself relax and it wasn't as bad. The cramping afterwards was worse for me than the exam.

Did they say if you were soft or dilated any? I only found them painful when my cervix was still firm, thick and closed. Once it softens up and starts preparing its still uncomfortable but now near as painful. If anything it's more just achy sore the following day.

With my first, I had one nurse in L&D that like to of killed me. I was climbing up the bed to get away. But I didn't have excruciating pain any other time.
