Group B Strep?

Question

Has anyone had or is going to have the GBS test? If so when?? My doctor will do it for me next week when I turn 36 weeks.

Yes. I tested positive at the beginning of the pregnancy, and they are doing another culture at my next appointment (35 weeks). It's not too bad, really, and the process for treatment is not bad at all. They just do intravenous antibiotics during active labor so the baby isn't exposed to it. If you're doing a hospital birth, you'll most likely have IV's anyway, so it's not a big deal.

Not a big deal but it is one of those things that can be present at 36wks and gone by labor. Or vice versa. 
If you do have to take antibiotics during labor, then be on the look put for thrush around wks 4-8 while breastfeeding.

Mine is scheduled for when I'm almost 36 weeks as well. She said if I'm positive it's not a big deal.. Just get antibiotics when I'm in labor. She's  good about keeping me calm haha

I just did a swab today at 36 weeks.  That's a normal timeline I think!
