When baby is born is it to go to dad or mom?

Is anyone having them give the baby to the father immediately? Or putting it on your chest? I feel like it would be a good way for my husband to have his bonding moment if it goes to him... What do y'all think??

I guess I'm selfish lol I want to be the first to do skin on skin lol I carried the baby for 40weeks! I guess to each her own but I'm going to be selfish

Baby is going to me if I go natural. If I need a c section then baby is going directly to dad for skin to skin!

My husband has said that he wants to do skin to skin with the baby first and then can put the baby on my chest after. It is nice if husbands wants to get involved like this

Idk about all hospitals, but where I had my boys, they put a blanket on me and as soon as my boys were out they were placed on me. Covered in blood and everything and that's where they start cleaning them up and getting them to cry and all that. Idk if dads would be okay with that. I think it would be easier for the nurses to clean them if they placed the baby on you instead.

After a long labor, delivery and pregnancy the baby is going straight to me! I went thru all that I deserve the first snuggles. However after that then the baby can go to my fiancé.

My husband and I haven't talked about these things yet but I honestly think baby will go on me first only because I don't think my husband will fare to well with the baby not cleaned up.  He doesn't do that will with blood and stuff. As soon as baby is cleaned in site he will be the first to hold the baby and no one will hold the baby until we both have had time

Where I delivered they put my son on my chest until after I delivered the placenta and didn't cut the umbilical cord until after after birth was delivered then they got him cleaned up and handed him to his father.

My baby pooped in utero so they had to work on her for a few minutes before they handed her to me. Long story short I was the last one to see her, first one to hold her and we didn't get to do skin to skin.

I'm doing initial skin to skin... I honestly don't want anyone else in the room with me and my baby that first hour except me and my SO but knowing my family they're impatient as hell and my mom will probably want to sit first row to see him come out
