Is it bad to wash your hair everyday?

People constantly tell me it's bad to wash my hair everyday but if I don't it's greasy and gross looking. So what do you think?

As a hairdresser I can tell you that by washing your hair daily your taking away the hairs natural oils you only need to wash it a few times a week using a good quality shampoo twice then a good conditioner

I'm very particular about my shower routine and if any part is missing I go crazy till I can take another shower to do it properly. So I have to wash my hair everyday. Also if I don't my hair gets incredibly greasy. And when I was younger I'd go days without washing my hair and I still had the same problem. I just naturally have greasy hair. So I wash it. I also have super soft, strong, shiny hair and I always get compliments on it and my hair stylist is always impressed with it. I don't use heat like ever and I don't use products other than shampoo and conditioner in my hair. Guess it just evens out.

I think you should try a different shampoo. I have the same problem with greasy looking hair so I have to wait to wash my hair every other day it's a struggle

I've heard that washing your hair everyday is bad so what I do is I wash my hair ever other day but wash my body everyday I usually just put it up in the shower.

If your hair is naturally oily then it is not bad to wash it everyday some people can't stand the smell of thier natural hair oils and if you use a quality shampoo & conditioner then it's fine everyone is different so one girl may get dried fried hair from washing everyday where someone else feels like they are dripping in oil if they dont

Once you skip washing your hair a few times it will balance itself out so that it doesn't get greasy as fast. Once your hair is getting used to being washed every other day or only 2 times a week it'll help. You really shouldn't wash your hair everyday. Now me saying this doesn't mean I don't wash mine everyday. My hair is fine though and I work in a salon so I feel the need to wash mine everyday cause I'm literally covered in other people's hair all day.
