So my baby girls bio mom gave her to her father and never calls or texts her. Doesn't send child support, doesn't call for her bday or xmas. She texts my husband every 3 months to see if she's okay and the texts messages are like 4 words long. When my husband responds to her, she never responds back. I want to legally adopt my stepdaughter in the state of florida.

Does anyone know if I need her parental consent or would she be considered as child abandonment and I'll be awarded custody of her? Anyone go thru this???
