What is your opinion on the Stanford swimmer rape case?

It's disgusting. It's so sad that he gets a a 6 month sentence & COULD POSSIBLY get out on 3 with good behavior, simply because they say prison will "ruin" him. He RAPED someone. That rape ruined her & will stay with her forever.

He deserves to rot, not only in a jail cell (for as long as possible), but in hell, where all of the other rapists belong. Because that's what he is. A rapist. Regardless of your skin type, age, location, race, religion, social class, educational status, how the rape took place, if the victim was intoxicated, and/or if you were intoxicated, you are a rapist and that is that.

I think the sentences for any rape case are unbelievable, way more time should be served for scarring someone for life, not only mentally but physically, emotionally, etc.

But for real, if this guy wasn't in the limelight and attending such a well known, branded for great pupils school (I think, if I'm thinking of the right guy.) then I think he'd be serving not a reasonable, but a decent amount of time.

I read some articles and the judge sounds like an ass too.

I don't know the full story though so I'm going to follow on this thread and see other people's opinions because I could be totally wrong 😳

This is the story about the guy that is only getting 6 months for sexual assault, right? And his dad was all "oh he only got 20 mins of action, what's the big deal?" Apparently asshattery runs in the family... But aside from that, his sentence should definitely be more for what he did, but at least it is 6 months. I read on BBC News about someone who was sentenced to 180days and served just 3!!

Rape isn't punished very harshly in the US anymore.

At most, you get 2-3 years jail time, and then you're out.

During the old west days, men would get executed for raping women.
