Is it me or does giving birth feel more like a beauty pageant than a welcoming baby?

I'm just trying to keep up with my hair being straightened because it can happen at any day. Those who have c section And induction have time to look good. I might go into labor at midnight, be looking like a scare crow.

I was induced. ..after laboring 13 hours and pushing for 2.5 and ending up with a level 4 tear, no amount of professional makeup and hair artists could've keeped me looking cute lol....who cares...you're having a baby

Nope...but then again,  I'm not the kind that wakes up two hours earlier each morning to make sure I "put my face on"
I do put mascara and liner..and lip balm. My hair is wavy.. pony tail, bun..who cares.. I work with 250 plus computers/agents/ web servers 60 hour a week..I could care less about make up and hair. .. my SO loves me without or with make up. . And I like to jump out of bed, shower and GTFO most is the times. .delivery day won't be any different.. I don't see the obsession over a "photography session IN THE DELIVERY ROOM AS I GIVE BIRTH OR RIGHT AFTER " nope..that's ok. .I'm fine with my SO talking some personal pics... u know,  where I don't have to pretend I'm "oh so happy to be pushing a 9lb baby our of my bleeding vagina and shitting asshole... TMI- I know. .but it's true. .. 
Delivery day is MY DAY to do what I FEEL comfortable doing.  
No make up,  no fake smiles..just whatever mood I'm in at the moment. ..probably crying happy tears and not wanting to  be recorded or taken pics of. .

I've never worn makeup and I don't ever do anything with my hair so I don't have the same worries haha. People will be paying more attention to your baby than you anyway!

I sure as hell hope I just happen to have my hair straight the day I go into labor because I would like some NICE after pics. Not looking like Godzilla while holding my beautiful baby. Maybe the make up thing can wait till after but I mean do you guys really have to be so SNOBBY because she wants to look good for some pictures that are MEMORIES? jesus

I've had two C sections and they make you remove your makeup, take off any jewelry, take out your contacts and they tried to get my to remove my manicure that I had just done the day before! That one wasn't happening! There's no way to look good having a baby, vaginal or c section!

All I know is I'm going to have time to fix myself off do my make up and my hair straighten since I'm going to get induce. Girl if you want to get all doll up for that special day  do it is all you go for it 👌👍👌✌👍

Who cares what you look like. Pretty sure there are more important things to worry about on that day. You can shower and fix yourself after delivery.

No one has time to look good. Laying in bed for hours then pushing for a few minutes (if you are lucky and its only a few minutes), your hair is going to look awful. Oh and when you are in horrible pain and your so does something to annoy you, that straight hair in your way is going to infuriate you. You will be hot and sweaty despite the fact that the hospital is a large refrigerator.   But honestly, you do you. If doing your hair and make up makes you happy, go for it. But dont expect it to help you look any more put together after delivery. Unless you like your lipstick to match the blood on your chest from where the doctor just plopped that baby down on you, I'd just wait until after showering.
