Should age difference be an issue if both are adults?

I'm 28 and he is 57. I have never considered dating anyone that much older. Once I considered a 42 year old, but he never grew up :-(. Anyway the guy is super sweet. I can't decide if he just knows all the right things to say or he is sincere... We seem to connect. He makes me laugh. I am terrible with adult relationships. I usually date no less than 2 years younger and tend to prefer my age or older. It's hard to find a decent guy in my age range that doesn't live at home, works, doesn't drink or do drugs, and isn't a lazy slob. The 57 year old I thought we were just friends making jokes, but now I think maybe he isn't joking. I like him enough to be his friend, but I don't k ow about more... He is younger than my parents, but not much younger than my dad. That is a bit weird for me. I love my parents and I'm not sure how they would feel about it. My brothers would be happy for me as long as I was happy.
