He doesn't want to attend babyshower

My SO does not want to attend our baby shower, he says he doesn't see why he needs to be there. I'm gonna ask him to atleast come toward the end.

Ionno if this is a difference in cultures or him just being anti social.

What would you do? Should I not make it a big deal?
