Seriously?!
So for about a week I've been feeling what I believe to be Braxton Hicks..I'm 17w2d and high risk. They are mostly irregular but sometimes can be about 8 minutes apart for about a minute or so. I've tried everything, laying down, increase water intake, showers, messages, everything. Because they're very painful I decided to not wait until my appointment on June 20th and go ahead and be seen in the ER. The ER physician was excellent listening to my concerns and said either Braxton hicks or possibly pre term labor so we ran some test and checked for dilation. I'm not dilated but thinning out and baby is head down per ultrasound. So the physician said she'd call OBGYN for a consult because she wanted to make the absolute best decision. About an hour later she comes in obviously frustrated. Her exact words were "I'm so sorry, I've talked to OB 3 separate times asking for them to check on you and they have stated because you're child is not viable outside of the womb it is unnecessary for us to speak with you! I burst into tears right on the spot and she held my hand and said I personally do NOT agree with their decision but I cannot place you on bed rest so what I can do is tell you what I WOULD DO IF I WERE TOU. I believe in my personal opinion you need to be on bed rest so she set up an appointment for tomorrow and wrote me a note for work until then. Worst ER experience ever but with the best ER physician.
