Ear infection in 6 week old?

My son is 6 weeks. Tonight when I laid him down for his bedtime massage he started shrieking in a way I've never heard before. So I picked him up and held him, gave him his pacifier and he calmed down so I went to lay him down again and again he shrieked. I thought he may be cold so I wrapped him in a blanket and cuddled him again. Then I remembered that during the bath I dropped water on his head and it went over his face and panicked that it may have also gotten in his ears. He has a fever of 99.8. Online it says ear infections are usually 102 but that babies don't like laying down because of the pressure it puts on their ears. Is it possible it's an ear infection if so what can I do? Pedrrociat doesn't open until 9am tomorrow morning.
