What does the mucous plug look like?? What are the exact labor signs??

I'm currently 37 weeks & one day. I have more intense pelvic pressure as well as sharp pains but I'm managing. It's just a lot. I know if your water breaks or u have contractions. I'm just nervous & anxious I feel like it's going to happen soon for some reason. My discharge has been more heavy lately like clear and creamy no smell(I noticed it got heavier yesterday) what exactly would the mucous plug look like?? And what are all signs of labor?? I have read about 5 books my fiancé looks at me like I'm crazy but I got more anxious as I get closer. Thank you ladies so much I appreciate it
