Pregnancy Announcements??

I know typically you "should" wait till after the first trimester but.... has anyone mad3 their pregnancy public sooner than that?

I'm currently 5 weeks and we are planning on telling family after our first ultrasound, which is on the 29th

This is my second pregnancy. Both times we told our immediate family right away. I would rather have support than not have anyone know. I have also told 2-3 close friends to help me get through this tough phase. Other than that we will wait until somewhere around 12 weeks.

We have told our family and quite a few of our friends. I'm 6w5d now. We'll announce on Facebook after my first ultrasound in two weeks. It's a personal decision I think. I'm very young, have never had a miscarriage before, and have made it to pretty well 7 weeks already. Statistically my chance of miscarriage is very low now so I feel comfortable sharing

As long as everything looks good at my ultrasound I will announce at about 9 weeks. It's an easy decision because I don't often visit my parents and it's even rarer for the whole family to be together. We'll all be in town for my sisters wedding so it'll be a good opportunity.

Hey Lenzy! I am desperate to tell everyone and anyone who will listen but I am only 4.5weeks so I am trying to hold off for another month til our first appointment before telling the family and close friends...not easy though!

With my first pregnancy I told my immediate family and close friends right away. I ended up going in for my first ultrasound at 8 weeks and was told the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks 2 days and I had to have a d&c. I am now 5 weeks and 5 days and the only people that know are my husband and sister.  I am not telling anyone else until around 12 weeks.  It is all up to you and how you would handle the possibility of having to go back and tell everyone about the miscarriage. For me, I think other people knowing made it more difficult.

With our first we announced right away to close family. Unfortunately it ended in MMC.  It was nice having their support but we are saving them the grief if something goes wrong again. We will wait until we have a positive scan experience at 8 weeks this time.

I told my family and close friends within a few days of learning I was pregnant. The reason you are "supposed" to wait until the end of the first trimester is in case you have a miscarriage, so my rule of thumb was share my pregnancy news with anyone that I would tell that I had a miscarriage. If that happens to me, I will need emotional support from the people closest to me.

A friend told me that she regretted not telling her family she was pregnant from the beginning because when she later had a miscarriage she had to tell them both pieces of news at once and it was just more difficult for her that way.

I think it's a very personal decision and there are no right or wrong answers. Personally I am selectively sharing the news and will save social media posts and the like until sometime in my second trimester... Whenever we feel ready.

I'm 5 weeks 2 days & my hubby & I told our parents & siblings & I told my boss but we haven't told anyone else. I told my boss because last fall I got pregnant which sadly ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks & I had to take time off due to the physical & emotional pain so I wanted to give him the heads up just in case. I work in a small business & consider my boss a friend. Luckily so far this pregnancy seems to be going better (no spotting so far) so I'm hopeful that when I go in 4 my 1st ultrasound in 2 weeks that we'll see a healthy growing baby instead of an empty sac like last time. Not trying to scare anyone or bring anyone down just explaining why I will wait to tell most people.
