How long before going into labor did you dilate?

Hi ladies!
Who has started dilating?
I just found out I'm 2cm dilated and 50% effaced with an extremely soft cervix but my dr is saying it can be days (even weeks😩). I'm hoping sooner! 😊
What are/were your experiences with dilation/effacement like?

Mine so far has been annoying! I've been getting cervical checks since my 37+1 appointment. At 37 weeks I was 50% effaced and barely a half a cm dilated. Here we are now at 40+2 and I'm still 50% effaced and barely half a cm dilated. I've tried, everything to get my body progressing but nothing even sex has helped. So I'm just gonna rest and take it easy till my next appointment instead of wearing myself out (which happens easily) Good luck to you!!

I was 2 cm and 75% effaced at 36w3d and didn't go into labor until 39w4d.

With my first I went weekly (from 36 weeks) .5cm, 1cm, 2cm, got to the hospital at 4cm (39 weeks) and delivered 4 hours later. With my second I went weekly (from 35 weeks) 1cm, 2cm, 2cm, 2cm, got to the hospital at 3cm (38w6d) and delivered 2 hours later. Both times my water broke on the way to the hospital. Both times I worked out throughout my pregnancy and my Wed evening class triggered contractions and the loss of my mucous plug with bloody show. Both times I delivered on a Thurs morning.

I was about 1.5 cm for 2 weeks or so, and 2 cm when I was sent to the hospital to deliver my bub. Went from 2-3 in hours, 3 to 7 in 2 hours, 7 to 10 in less than half an hour

With my first I went to the hospital 4 cm dilated at 39w2d and gave birth that same day at 837pm

Now expecting my second, and I was 1cm dilated at 35w5d. Experiencing contractions since 2 days ago with lots of pressure on my pelvic area and rectum. But they haven't increased or gotten regular. Currently 38w3d
