What to do before an ultrasound..

Do you actually start drinking an hour before your ultrasound or stop drinking an hour before your ultrasound to allow it to pass through to your bladder? I didn't do it right last time..

I'd wait till a half hour before. When I went I started 2 hrs before and had to drink 60oz bc I kept peeing

Depends on how far along you are for the ultrasound. Usually it is required to drink 32 oz an hour ahead of time if you're before 20 weeks and that's so uterus/baby will be pushed more upward. It's also suggested to have something sugary 30 minutes before so baby is more active in case it's in a bad position it's more likely to move

My first ultrasound was the gender ultrasound so the tech told me to drink something cold and sugary so the baby could be active. 1-30min before hand.
He was active and we found out he was a boy, even though he was being stubborn!

By my second ultrasound baby was big enough so I didn't need to drink a lot before. Just drink something that will go through quick, iced tea, Dr Pepper, ice water.

Mine said not to drink before but also to have enough urine in you. I went to the hospital one time because of server vomiting and I didn't have enough urine for an ultrasound so they put a catheter in me and put fluids in my bladder. It was an unpleasant experience
