Newborn and babyTylenol?

I just had my son 3 days ago. He got circumsized and i feel so bad everytime hes in pain crying because of it. Is it safe to give a newborn acetaminophen? If so how much do u give them?

Personally, I wouldn't give a baby so young tylenol. But you should call a nurseline to get the correct dosage. Its based off weight

They should have gave you a cream to put on him and that will help with the pain he's in. If not call his doctor someone should be on call or even l&d and ask them.

The dr didn't give him a prescription? He can have Tylenol not Motrin. It will say right on the box what the dosage is.

Maybe try petroleum jelly? Or ask your dr if you can use neosporin with pain reliever... but I would call

I would call your doctor and ask. We had our son's done last Tuesday when he was 2 weeks old. Before they did it, I asked the dr about giving him Tylenol if needed and she said not to. Not sure if that would change if baby was actually in pain. Also, I would call and ask if that's normal for him to be in that much pain after 3 days. I know every baby is different, but our little one never really cried out in pain. He was just a little cranky that first day but has acted normal other than that.

You shouldnt give your baby Tylenol before 3 months unless directed by babies doctor.

For newborns its based on weight and reason of need if it outweighs risks. Its unlikely they'll prescribe for a newborn. Do not give unless prescribed by a peadiatrician it will be harmful to baby if you give wrong dose.
