Natural or Epidural ?

Curious on what all the mommies are going to do I'm gonna do natural my mom and grandma did natural so I want to to .

My birth plan with my first said "epidural asap." The second birth plan will say the same. I applaud women who commit to natural, but it just doesn't make sense for me. I won't feel like I'm proving anything if I go natural. That said, I know this is very important to some moms and totally respect that.

One thing no one warned me about: even with the epidural, it is excruciatingly painful. I've had kidney stones and broken three bones (13 at once). Even with that epidural, I felt unimaginable pain. I had a friend whose epidural worked so well that she was in minimal pain, and I went in thinking that it would be bearable. 24 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, and every minute was filled with pain. I wish I'd been warned.

This all said, it is completely worth it to hold that baby at the end. This is why we women do it again and again. We are strong and powerful. No matter our decisions, it's important not to judge others.

I am hoping and praying that my pregnancy continues to be normal and low risk so that I can achieve my dream of a natural birth. Epidural was never in my thought process when I envisioned my labor and birthing process.

My heart says natural but my head says epidural 😆. I'm probably going to have a c section though if this placenta doesn't get out of the way

Do it! I'm doing the home study hypnobirthing classes.. My mom, mother in law and grandma all did it. Do you have Pinterest? There's a wealth of info on there about natural birthing.

I wanna stay home Long as I can .. I guess depends on what stage of labor when I get to the hospital.. Epidural will be ok with me

If you want all natural go for it! I did and it was very hard to think I could do it. It was much more difficult before transition. Once I was "pushing" (you aren't actually pushing--body is doing it by itself), I wasn't in as much pain although the contractions are so intense but they feel completely different and you are in a different mode. So when you get to that point of thinking you can't do it and must have drugs you are probably about to transition anyway! I was in labor for about 22 hours and pushed for about 4. I had the baby at home so drugs wasn't an option but I did ask my midwife to take me to hospital so I could get drugs. Ha ha! But she and my husband helped me through at rough spot (trNsition) and then it was pushing time.

I got the epidural with my first and had complications with it. The two pregnancies after that were all natural and I plan to do this last one all natural again. The tub takes away almost all of the pain. You mainly just feel a ton of pressure so that's our plan for now.
