How old are other new moms where you live?

I just read a post where someone's OBGYN told her that her baby making days are over...and she's only 32! The advice on that thread was unanimous...find a new doc.

But that got me thinking...I live in San Francisco and a large number of women have a career and choose to wait to have children.  I'm 37 (will be 38 next month), and I chose to wait until now (I'm 10w). I always felt this way, even in my 20's.

Anyway, when I go to see the midwife, the waiting room is full of women who look my age or older.  And generally speaking, moms where I live are in their 30's or 40's. It's so common that I feel surprised if I see a mom who looks like she's in her 20's.

So my question for you ladies is...what's it like where you live? Do you feel like you'll fit in age-wise with other new moms?

But to answer your question, I find I fit in more with white mothers down here as they are closer in age to me, most of the mothers DOWN HERE who are minorities are in their 20's.

Hey Susan! I'm 34 and live in SF too! What's a coincidence. Today I'm 10+3 (after 1 miscarriage and 5 cp's) :)
This is my first. This is my second marriage and when I've met this man I realized it's a great time and place for kids. 
Originally I'm from Russia. And in our country if you don't have kids till 27-28 years you will be called old by your OB. For the first time I have been married for 10 years. And I didn't want to have kids at my early 20's since I had so much plans. After 6-7 years of this marriage I started to talk about kids but my ex always wasn't ready.
Now I'm happy pregnant woman and I don't care if anyone think I'm old. :)

I'm an academic and most female colleague friends either don't have kids or started in their low-mid 30s. I had my first at 32 (Germany) and will have my last at 38 (Australia). I know some others who are late 30s and only starting a family now.

I live in The Netherlands, but I'm from a small town in California (about 2.5 hours away from SF). I'm 29 and here my age is pretty average, maybe even a little on the young side. But, in my home town they literally act as if I'm having a baby in my 60s. I prefer it much better in The NL ;) there's a different vibe to everything that works much better for me.

I'm originally from the SF bay area but I live in Atlanta now. This is my first and I'm 37, will be 38 when I deliver. The majority of the women in the waiting room for my OB look like they are mid thirties, I've seen maybe 2 or 3 younger ladies over the course of my 5 visits/4.5 months

I don't know any pregnant ladies under 30, I'm in Brooklyn, NY. I also run an event for caregivers and babies on a weekly basis and i haven't seen any moms that appear to be under 30...and I'd even say under 35! The part of BK where I live and work is probably similar in demographic to SF. I'm 35 and my midwives always giggle a little when we have to discuss AMA related risks or procedures. They're apologetic about it because 35 is  such a common age to have kids here!

It depends on where you live. I live in south Florida and younger pregnancies (under 30) is the norm. If I looked my age, 38, I'm sure ppl would have looked sideways at me in the doctors office😑
SanFran is known for having more advanced forward thinking individuals so it's normal that you have more adults, waiting and taking time to enjoy their lives and plan their pregnancies...

I'm 40 in NH and I see ladies in their mid 30s in my doctor's office/work/baby store, etc. My niece is 21 and that seems like a rarity these days around here.

In my neighbourhood, all the new moms look over 32. Even the ones with older children look as though they had them in their 30s.

I live in the Houston area and I would say my age,36 at having a family is older.  Most start having their babies in their late 20s.  It really just depends on where you live-in Austin most are having families for the first time around my age.
