What does your baby wear?

Question

At the risk of sounding dumb, what does your baby wear on an average day when you are just hanging around home? I have been putting my son in footed pajamas, which seems appropriate for the temperature in our house. But this makes me wonder... What the hell are onesies for? Is this what he is supposed to wear for the majority of the day and then pajamas at night? Won't his feet and legs get cold in just a onesie? This is puzzling me. I'd appreciate your input! 😘

We live in hot-as-hell Texas so my son is just wearing onesies during the day, although we usually cover his feet with a swaddle blanket during naps in his Rock n Play due to the AC. At night, he wears a onesie beneath one of the Velcro swaddles. So I'm the opposite--I'm actually wondering why I have all these cute footed pajamas that he never wears!

It's 110 degrees in LA right now so all my baby wears are onesies. Even to sleep☺

It all depends.... We use footed pjs for the night... If he dirties them during the day then I put him in a onesie if the house isn't cold. If we go out, I usually do a onesie and some shorts or pants.

My doctor said to dress the baby how you would feel comfortable being dressed, or in as many layers as you are wearing that day. Over heating is one of the causes of SIDS. Better to under dress and add a blanket or socks, then over dress and cause them to over heat.

Babies have troubles regulating their body temp. Especially infants. So I usually dress baby in as many layers and I am wearing plus a blanket if we are inside.  My baby always wants to be close to me to stay warm and for comfort.  I can tell when he is cold because his little bottom lip shivers.  When he is outside I have a light blanket and a hat on him to provide protection from the sun. I like the new muslin swaddle blankets because they breath and they are less likely to overheat in them!

Babies usually need an extra layer if it's cool, that's what a onesie is for. But they aren't really needed in the warmer months for that purpose. 
My baby has been wearing a onesie and pants if we go out but if we are at home, sometime just a onesie with socks when it's really warm.

In North Carolina, and my daughter is in a onesie during the day. And in a gown at night (and then swaddled). But I keep my house at 78 though, because it's in the 90s outside and electricity is expensive! If you keep your house much cooler, then yeah, I would put a baby in more.

The first two weeks I kept baby in footed pajamas..the pediatrician told me it's summer so if I'm hot  he's hot so now I keep him in onesies..I keep the house around 75. We don't reAlly go out..but we will tommorow for his one month appt. He will  be wearing a shorts and onesie set

We are in Florida and my hormones are still all over the place when it comes to temperature. The night sweats are still killing me! I'll be freezing when it's 78 inside and hot when it's 72. It's a day by day thing. Our LO is usually in onsies during the day with socks if I have it cooler in the house, and footed pjs at night. If I'm keeping it especially cool inside he's in the long sleeve onsies with built in mitts.
