When to start washing everything

Question

When do you plan on starting to wash everything? I still have 12 weeks to go and I feel like if it's just sitting around for that long it will need to be washed again.

We already washed almost everything and have everything set and ready to go. Even though I'm not due until 09/17 I want it all done and ready in case I go into labour early. We are just waiting on our crib mattress to arrive to wash the bedding, but clothes and everything else is done and put away. I don't use anything with fragrance so I'm not losing any scent by washing it early, which a lot of people don't like. I want everything cleaned and done by 30 weeks, I'm 27 right now. Even though I'm low risk of preterm labour, I would rather be safe than not have things ready.

I was given advice for my first that I've stuck to ever since. Don't take tags off or wash everything until baby is here. Just to be on the e safe side the gender prediction was right. Which in my case was great advice!! My first we were told wrong until I was 8 months!  I'm glad I never took tags off bc I was able to return some things, regift and save for another baby! But everyone has their own preference.

I only washed second hand things. We got a lot of clothes from a cousin who has a little boy only about 4 months. So I washed all of that. The new stuff, I only washed what I'm taking to the hospital. Everything else hubs will wash after baby is born. Oh! I already washed sheets and blankets too. Even if there is a gender mix up, blankets and sheets are usually fine anyway :) I got teal and grey in that area.

I washed everything this weekend but I don't have a whole lot and haven't had any showers yet so I just wanted some of it to be ready just so I wouldn't have to think about it.

In 28 weeks today but I have everything washed and ready to go! In my defense though my diet came early and we had to get everything done while he was in the NICU so I'm ready this time
Just in case. The only things I didn't wash were preemie clothes from my first because I don't want to jinx it

I washed everything I knew I was keeping up through 3 months--a lot was second hand items anyway. Anything I don't end up using we will keep for future kiddos or donate to family or friends. I have already washed all of the bedding items and blankets as well. I wanted to be ready incase she comes early and doing laundry once she gets here sounds terrible! We know for sure it is a girl (confirmed in four different ultrasounds and by genetic blood testing) so I'm not worried about a surprise there.

Most of my stuff is second hand so I've been washing it as I sort through it; especially now that it's summer, carpet/ dermestes bugs can chew holes into the clothing

Just food for thought. We washed everything (around 30wks) abd when baby came, he was almost 10lbs and skipped all my newborn clothes. Because we washed EVERYTHING, I couldn't return any of the clothes that he skipped. The only consolation was knowing that we'd try for another kid down the road and maybe we could use them then lol. But it looks like #2 is gonna be a chunker too :-)

With my last 5 I only washed what baby would come home in and my husband would come home before the baby.n I n wash everything else. Will do the same for this one..... N I don't wash the nb outfit until I go into labor. I figure if it's not done before baby comes no biggy cause my Hubby can bring it back to the hospital with him..... But I also have never packed a hospital bag either.... Never saw the point. I never need anything until we are about to come home anyways I figured why bother
