Welcome Magdalena Isabel 😊 some TMI

Mariandl • I'm 31 years old and it's my first pregnancy. Being overweight and having Hashimoto's makes me quite anxious that everything will be alright...

Her due date was the 18th of June, and I had contractions on and off for two weeks. On the 14th I woke at 6am with light contractions, at 7.15 I started timing them and they were already 3-5min and 1min long. I just couldn't imagine going through 15 hours or more of that, if the start was already that hard to bear. I had lose bowels and it was already hard to talk during contractions.

At 8.30 I called my SO to come home from work, he arrived at 9.30 and we went on our way to the hospital 30min later. The drive was terrible with contractions 2-3min apart and I got nauseous and puked, fortunately I had brought bags for that. It was a terrible 20min drive....

Around 10.30 I got to l&d and the midwife smiled and told me she's sure it'll take some time, since it's my first child. Well, when she checked my cervix, it was already 6cm and very soft!

I was so relieved, looked like it wouldn't be another 15l hours!!!

I got antibiotics for strep and they monitored baby's heart rate, which kept dropping with each contraction, then she broke my water and it was green, which meant the baby was in distress.

They told me we had to get things going and two more midwifes came in to work with me. Also, The doctor arrived to see how things are going, but the midwifes kept working with me to get her out and told me what a great job I was doing and i pushed and pushed.

After only 2 hours in the hospital my beautiful baby girl arrived at 12.26pm, after only 30min of pushing and completely unmedicated. I suffered a second degree tear and she has a huge bump on her head, which will take months to disappear, because everything went so fast, but we made it and left the hospital 24hours later. It couldn't have been much better 😊
