When having a C-Section...

Question

When having a C-Section do you go into labor? If you chose to have a C-Section I guess?? I'm not sure how that really goes

No you are scheduled before your due date... mind you my little monkey decided to arrive THE DAY before our scheduled c section

I am scheduled for my repeat csection June 23rd! I was induced the first time and my son got stuck and turned sunny side up. I wish I could've had a vaginal birth. Csection Recovery is not easy!

It really depends. Planned Csections are generally only for people with medical reasons, and generally they don't want you going into labour before a csection. I'm having my 4th baby via Csection on Thursday and they do NOT want me going into labour. That's due to medical reasons, some women are not considered high risk if they go into labour though. So it TOTALLY depends on the person and medical history.

I went into labor all three times and they were all c sections. My first was an emergency so my second was another c section but both my first and second broke my water. Never made it to my due date with all three. My first born at 35wks my second at 38wks (a wk before her scheduled date) and my third she was scheduled for the 29th of this month and she was born at 36wks 6days. It is a longer recovery though. I wish I could have delivered vaginal but as long as my babies r fine I would do it again c section

Nope, like the other ladies said they schedule you about a week before your due date to avoid labor. I'm due the 29th and my c-section is the 24th and I'm hoping he doesn't come earlier this week because this time around I love the idea of no labor! Lol

You go in.. they prep you. Give you an epidural. Cut you open. And baby is next to you.

No if you have a c section they will schedule u at 39 weeks for your c section and if you go into labor before then unless it is safe for you to have a natural birth they will stop ur labor and then take you for a c section if necessary

I believe the reason they schedule c-sections for 39 weeks is so you DONT go into labor.  If you do it may mean having an emergency c-section instead, which isn't ideal.
