Don't know what to do....

I am 19wks and 4days pregnant with my second baby. When I had my first I lived in the city and with every visit to the hospital I got a quick scan to check that baby was ok. Now I live in the country and although I got a scan at 12 wks I've been told I won't get another until around 28wks because they don't have the resources to keep up with the volume of patients. I feel fine, baby is kicking away and I have no real reason to be worried but I just feel like they could miss something in the 16 weeks between scans.. Am I being crazy? I was told I could fake having pains to get a scan or I could go get a private scan for €100.... Maybe I'm just being a hypercondriac!? What would you guys do?
