What Do I Say...?

Question

A friend of mine messaged me a couple days ago saying she had white blisters on her lady parts. First thought in my head was herpes. 
She went to the doc today and the doc told her she was 98% sure it was herpes. 
Her husband was a man whore before they got married and they've been together almost three years. She said he had white blisters pop up on his junk from time to time and whenever he would get them they wouldn't do anything. 
She's really upset over it and has right to be because that's rediculous. What do I tell her to try to get her to feel better?

Honestly, I don't think she has a right to be upset. Neither one of them thought to have him checked at the doctor, despite there obviously being questionable symptoms present. She slept with him without protection knowing he had a promiscuous past. My husband and I used protection until we both were tested. That's called common sense. It sucks she has herpes now but it's not the end of the world. If I were her I'd get tested to see what else I have that may need treatment.

It might help for her to know that's it's *really* common and very treatable. I've read one out of five people have it. She's not alone!

It's not that bad a lot of people have this it's pretty obvious he had sex with her whilst  having an outbreak. She just needs to be aware of any future out breaks n stop intercourse till its gone same for him. Plus future partners need warning too. Could be worse but it's still a life time thing. It's the same virus as the colds ore virus u can actually spread a form of herpes by giving oral x hope she feels a little better in time. We all make mistakes however could be avoided by full std and sti  checks before any sexual action so u both have the all clear maybe worth her get swabbed and checked and him too for that matter x

She knew he had it and neither one of them thought about getting him on some medication? Clearly people can catch herpes even when the person doesn't have an outbreak. She can be upset about having herpes because that sucks but she should have known it was a possibility lol

Herpes is very common and yes the symptoms can be treated if u take the medicine at the first sign of an outbreak but u can never cure it. Herpes is one that many pepole never even have an outbreak. Some have it for 20 years and never know. All u can do is to learn the first symptoms of an outbreak and keep an eye out for them so u can call it Dr at the first sign of it.  some women only have outbreaks around the time of AF or intense stress.

Id say at least it wasn't really a surprise? It would've been worse if she contracted it and had no clue her husband had an STI. It is manageable, and as long as she and her husband are exclusive sex partners, it shouldn't cause any issues with their sex life.
