Vitamin K & Cholestasis
I've just recently been diagnosed with obstetric Cholestasis. I'm 34+1. I had my first NST yesterday, and I'll have another, plus an ultrasound and meeting with the doctor on Friday. I read somewhere that this can basically block Vitamin K from my prenatals from getting to me, and I think my biggest fear is the increased possibility of hemorrhaging. Do you think it's safe to start taking a Vitamin K supplement on top of my prenatal? My prenatal has 69% of the daily value of vitamin K, and the supplement I found has 125%. Or should I just wait and discuss it with my doctor?
My only issue with waiting to talk to the doctor is that the doctor also originally told me that my severe itching was just from swelling. I had to push the issue in order to get the blood tests to confirm Cholestasis. So I'm scared that the Vitamin K is also something that they'll brush off.
