Switch dr?

Has anyone tried to switch Dr's basically at delivery? I cannot stand my dr and I do not trust him. I have not been with him long only a few weeks and he keeos getting worse and worse. I am 40 +4.

I wanted to switch but no doctor office would take me. When I was at the hospital I told them that the doctor from my office is to have nothing to do with my delivery. The hospital OB delivered my daughter with no problems.

I switched at 30 weeks but only to deliver at a closer hospital. I loved my first doctor but her office and hospitals are an hour away from me. My new doctors office is 10 minutes away and the hospital she delivers at is 5 minutes.

Who did you have before? You said you've only been with him for a few weeks...so maybe you're precious OB will see you again? Fluid levels aren't typically checked unless there's a diagnostic reason...as for no progression since the last time you were checked, I was at a 2 for 3 weeks with my daughter...baby comes down when it's ready. I often feel like many OB's are rushed through so many patients that they aren't able to build a repor and get to know each and every one of them....they should, however, be able to check your chart and see your history of BP, previous inductions, and what you discussed at your time of visit. Hopefully something works out for you...it's pretty rare that a OB will take on a patient at this stage of the game. They don't want the liability of something bad happening that they weren't aware of, since they did not reside over your prenatal care. Good luck.

I switched doctors around 13 weeks and the doctor I was switching to in the office had to agree to take me on as a patient since I was already established with a different doctor in the office

How do you not trust him? Maybe request another doctor in the practice? He May not even deliver you. Depending on when you go onto labor, it may be an on call doctor.
