Date ideas!

D
Hi everyone,
I've been with my boyfriend for seven blissful months now, and throughout our relationship, he's paid for almost all of our dates. We've been on quite a few - we go out to eat almost every day that we're together (at least 3x a week), with him footing the bill in 99% of the places. I'm a college student and unfortunately am unemployed (read: broke AF), but I do really want to treat him sometimes. On Sunday, I'm taking my boyfriend out to play paintball - I always feel so proud when I get the chance to splurge for him! But because I have no income, I can't afford to pay for expensive dates so often, so I was wondering if any of you ladies have ideas for creative but inexpensive dates! (I live in New York City, so I'm blessed with an array of options, but I'd still like to hear your ideal dates!)

My college partnered with a semi-local paintball company, so instead of paying $75 or so each, we'll be paying a total of $60 for both of us! I bought the tickets on a whim when the seller came to my Spanish classroom and explained the program πŸ˜‚

Both my boyfriend and I are in university. Though we both have jobs we live on our own without much parental support so money is very tight. We tend to go hiking, swimming (in local swimming spots and we've been cliff jumping a few times- well he jumps I'm too chicken for that) and other outdoor things. Camping is really fun in the summer. We've also been to car shows (my boyfriend is a car fanatic) which are surprisingly not that boring for a none car person (probably because I just love seeing him so happy and excited). We've done a few beach trips and picnics as well. Mostly gas and food (which we keep as cheap as possible) are our only expenses. We can usually get by on $20 a date if not less.

My boyfriend is a car fanatic too! I've been dragged to auto shows as well πŸ˜‚ by the way, look into fordite jewelry as a gift for him! I got matching pieces for my man and I, and he almost cried with happiness.

My husband and I love going to local parks and hiking for a day. We live in Kentucky and there's quite a few around here. We do this often since we can't really ever afford to go out. Like literally never lol. Just a suggestion though! 😊

Awesome idea! I live in Manhattan (I promise, I'm not a rich snob hahaha) and there's no true nature here, but Central Park is AWESOME. I think we'll have a picnic there! Thanks for the reply :)

Since you live in the city and its getting pretty nice outside you should go for a picnic on the beach, and after you can walk on the boardwalk

I live on the East River in Manhattan, and he once walked me home from our college campus (under 2 miles along the water). We kissed at night by the Manhattan skyline and sat on the benches enjoying each other's company. Definitely recommended :) thanks for your input!

Museums! I don't know why they aren't more popular I freaking love museums. It's still an option you'd have to pay for, but not nearly as much as going out to eat. I see it as paying about 20$ to spend an entire afternoon/day exploring, and I think museums are an awesome way to learn about each other too.

I LOVE museums too! We've been planning to go to the Met(ropolitan Museum of Art) since our third date or so... Never got around to it yet!
