Applesauce or baby cereal

Quintella
My baby is three months and people keep suggesting to add baby cereal or applesauce to fill him up in his milk. Has anyone done this with their baby before 6 months?

Please don't do this. This is a major choking risk. Unless medically directed to for reflux, please do not. Not to mention, it is completely unnecessary to feed a baby that early. It is recommended to wait until 6 months per the AAP and the WHO and when all signs of readiness are there... Loss of tongue thrust reflex, sitting up I their own, showing interest in food, etc. Plus it is not likely that trying to fill a baby up will help them sleep. It may have the opposite effect because their poor little tummy will be upset. Just tell them to mine their own business.

No. This is not needed, and is actually not recommended at all. It can cause all sorts of digestive issues, like open gut. Babies are meant to eat little, often, that's how their system is made up.

Please don't do it. A baby that young is meant to eat often and a lot. My friends baby almost died, had to go to ER because of this.

"People say" "they say" "she say" "he say" all these phrases should have went out the window when you gave birth now it's what mama says daddy says doctor says you can do major damage to yourself and your child with that people say crap time to start thinking like Mama

There is nothing wrong with giving your baby applesauce or cereal at 3 months. I did it with my first born and I'm a nanny and the mom did the same thing and her dr told her she was doing everything fine. She is currently 5 months.  When she is 6 months she will be starting stage 2. Go with your gut and if your baby does fine then that is good. Or even ask your baby dr. But your are the only one that can make that decision. Don't let people tell you want to do and what not to do, besides a dr.
