relationship advice

okay so I met this guy almost a year ago through mutual friends. originally there were lots of sparks between us...however he would "disappear" (not communicate) for a few weeks and then randomly show back up. like the love struck girl, I would let him back in my life and we would hang out and everything would be great. well the other day I get this text from him saying how he likes me so much and how he wants things to be serious this time...all of my family hates him because of the whole "disappearing" thing but truly...I really like him even now. what do I do???🤔😐
