Is it bad if a hickey is on show in public?

Question

Just for the record, I don't normally show them- I wait for them to fade and then I start tying my hair up and stuff, but in this weather (humid and hot) I need to tie my hair up. So if I forget and randomly tie my hair up in public, is that bad form or...? All opinions wanted, but PLEASE NO BASHING EACH OTHER!!!

Personally I find hickeys trashy but some people like them. So if you want to show it then it shouldn't be a big deal if you're comfortable with it. I've got plenty of friends who've walked around with very visible hickeys for a few days and I had to once when my boyfriend accidentally (my skin is fair and marks easily- he didn't really know this at the time) gave me a bad one on my neck and it was really hard to cover up even with a scarf. So it shouldn't be an issue.

But I do think if you're going into a professional setting- work, school, etc then you should do your best to cover it because in a professional setting your sex life shouldn't be on display at all.

If it's one you can get away with the excuse that you burned your neck with your curling iron.

My younger sister went to cosmetology school. She only told me to put green eye shadow on it before putting foundation on it. The green off sets the red. I only used the trick once and it really helped.

Haha. I'm a violinist with a constant red rash/mark under my jaw that looks exactly like a hickey. I do get some strange looks from strangers. Of course they aren't going to know any different. Can't cover it up, and can't wear scarves all the time. I just learned to shrug off the stares lol

I dont like doing it. I know it happened one time, work the next day, all my bosses asked if i was ok(when i covered them up they looked more like brusies). I lied and said it was residual hives from a break out and inteied covering them up. They still insisted on asking if i they needed me with them to call the police for abuse >.>
