First time using opks does this make sense

So my cycles range ever since my mc a year ago from 28-32 days and haven't yet gotten pregnant since. Last month was a 31 day cycle so I took an opk on CD 11 to see and it was negative took this today and the line is darker then the control instantly made my so bd with me lol. Do you think it's promising ? Why would I ovulate on CD14 though with cycles that are longer ?
