Born June 25th at 6:00am on the dot! 7lbs 12oz, 20 and 3/4 inches
Here's my labor story:
I arrived at L&D around 11pm the night of Friday, June 24th completely expecting to be sent home. Had my bloody show all day and was experiencing irregular contractions but was not sure exactly when was the right time so just went in to be safe rather than sorry.
I was still dilated to 3cm as I had been earlier that day at my appointment, but nurse said I was almost a 4 and my water was bulging so she would monitor me for 2 hours. She checked again about an hour and a half later at 12:30am and I was admitted by 1am at 4cm!
Lost track of time a bit after this as I was beginning to be in a lot of pain. Got my epidural and then next time they checked me I was at 6cm and my water was about to burst. They waited it out for an hour or so then came it at 3:45am and broke it for me. They told me to pay attention for a lot of pressure, that it would feel like I had to take the biggest poop ever! Lol. Began to feel this pressure around 5am. They checked me, I was 9.5cm and she was ready.
I started pushing around 5:30am for what felt like an eternity. I was CONVINCED nothing was happening, and then the nurse mentioned that it was possible her cord was wrapped around a body part causing her to be stuck. Definitely freaked me out a little bit but didn't have time to ask many questions. The doctor finally decided to use a vacuum sucker to assist me and out she came! No cord wrappage, turned out her arm was up by her face causing her to be slightly stuck.
As soon as I saw him pull her out I absolutely broke down. I cried and cried. I was so overcome with emotion. Relief, disbelief, joy; it was so surreal. I felt like I was dreaming. And to add to the disbelief, it turns out I only pushed for a total of 30 minutes!
Her daddy and I are so in love with her, as is the rest of the family. We can stare at her tiny face for hours. She's our little doll!
Baby dust to everyone 💕
