Ahh sorry- I read it wrong and voted "Yes" but I'm definitely a "No" vote! That would drive me nuts- first names are first names for a reason!

I think it's absolutely rude of the family members to do that. Generally the first name is the name the child goes by and if it isn't it's the parent's or (once old enough to understand) the child's decision which name to go with...it's very presumptuous and disrespectful to take it upon themselves to do that. I correct anyone who tries to give my kid a nickname....

Your child should be called by the name you gave her and call her by. If you don't like it or agree with it then they shouldn't do it. I would just say sorry but I'd appreciate it if you would call my child by the first name as that's the name of like for my child to go by and the one I call my child by.

I voted it's not worth the hassle. We named our girl Kallie June & my mom has already said she's gonna call her June Bug. I just see it as, call her what you want but that's not her name lol. She's going to go by her first name whether they like it or not. They will get over it. Just try not to let it bother you.

It is absolutely not wrong! I would be so mad if my family just decided to call my baby something else just because they don't like it. It's not their decision!

I had this issue with my first. My family was afraid that their younger (preteen, but over 6) children wouldn't understand why he was named something she didn't consider a name, so they wanted to call him by his middle name or initials....but they asked first. Be adamant. Start calling her by name now and if they try to call her by her middle name (even after she's born) correct them. They don't have to like her name, but they have to use it or risk her not responding when she's a toddler because she knows the name she's called most by mom and dad.
