So, I have a 3.5 year old who can and has been a more "handsy" kid. We as parents DO NOT ignore this behavior. We discipline our child each time, but not in public so our friends rarely see how we respond.

My best friends kid always instigates a fight w my son, calling him names, starting hands on play (which I don't like bc my son always takes it too far). Anyways, it's been happening for years, and no one's been actually hurt. Today, at a birthday party, my son pushed my friends kid, kinda hard but they were in a jumpy tent, and my friends husband reached in, grabbed my son by both arms forcefully, and yelled loud enough for me to hear in another part of the party "you don't push my kid like to! That's my kid and you don't treat him like that!" And then yanked my kid out of the tent. My husband was right there but couldn't get to him bc my friends husband was blocking the entrance.

I'm super upset, am I overreacting? I would never grab and yell at a friends kid.
