Broken tailbone: vaginal vs c section

When I delivered my daughter 4 years ago I broke my tailbone during vaginal delivery. Thank goodness I had my epidural as I did not feel the pain until later that night. The doctor told me that there wasn't anything they could do for me or any medication they could offer other than mortrin. Going home and living with the pain for months was excruciating and I could barely sit or stand on my own for weeks and without the help from my husband I wouldn't have been able to make it!! To this day, I still have a little pain sitting in certain positions. Now with this pregnancy my doctor is offering me an elective c section due to what I went through last time. She said that this baby will more than likely be bigger than my first and so I will almost certainly break my tailbone again. I am so unsure of what to do in this situation. I really would like to have my baby vaginally, but maybe a c section would be a quicker recovery? Has anyone else had this situation happen to them? Any advice? I have never had a c section and don't want to volunteer for surgery if I don't have to, but on the flip side, I am wondering if the recovery from a c section would be faster and easier? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks mommas !
