Naming your baby a popular name, would you or would you not?

What are your opinions on naming your baby a name that is on the top 100, or even the top 10 list? Would you or would you not?

For me - I've adored the name Sophie since I was younger and always wanted to name one of my little girls that. Now it seems to be such a popular name. Hub and I would name her Sophie James to give her a little uniqueness (James is a family name so that would be her middle). I love it but I worry that "Sophia" is too overused - even though I would be doing soph-ie. I'm torn.

What do you think and do you have a similar situation? Or have in the past? comment below with your thoughts/experience with this!

I say go for it, that name is adorable. I think the search for the most unique name ever is a bit silly. I was born in the 80s and my name is Katie (okayyyy!) I've never cared! And I'm pretty sure my best friends Jessica C and Jessica E feel the same.😂 😉

Use the name you love and don't settle. I love the name Sophia personally and maybe it is a popular name-it's not where I live- but she will be YOUR Sophia and she will be unique to heralded. I say go for it!

We chose Isobella for our girl, I know Isabella is very popular but I just love the name and the nickname Bella so we just decided to spell it with an O instead of an A lol

I had the exact same reservations as you with the name Sophie and in the end I ended up using it anyway. I does bother me that we run into sooooo many Sophia/Sophie's around but I've decided that it's your personality that makes you unique, not your name. We used Sophie Noél but Sophie James is adorable!

Sometimes it's fun as a little kid to have people in your class that have the same name. That's how me and my best friend became best friends. Someone is always bound to have the same name regardless, if you love it use it! It's such a pretty name.
