No period problem

When i very first started my period i had only a few periods at like age 13 (no i was not sexually active) and then after a few i did not have any periods at all until i started taking birth control pills. The birth control pills regulated me and i took them for years and i am now 20. Well i just recently stopped birth control. I feel it is right to let my body do its own natural thing and that its not safe to have hormones put in me that my body isnt producing itself. What are your opinions and advice??
