Are there any moms who are EBF and pumping at the same time?

I feed my baby on demand but I also try to pump 1-2 times per day so I can have milk for hubby to feed and to start freezing. I'm hoping that this is okay... Do moms going back to work have any tips to share? My baby will be 5 months when I go back to work.

Well, I followed my Pedi's advice to pump after the morning session (LO is five weeks now), but that resulted in my getting more engorged and getting a plugged duct last night when he skipped a feeding (and I'm taking sleep.. Don't expect me to get up at 2am to pump if LO doesn't want that meal! )

I ordered both a manual medela pump and one of those passive milk catcher things on Amazon to try. The milk catcher suctions onto the breast and just kind of stays there. My plan is to catch the "runoff" from the other side while LO nurses and stash that. We've also been doing occasional bottle feedings so he'll know how to use it, but that's been like once a week. Ebf is just easier!

Anyway, I'm hoping that catching the normally wasted runoff milk won't affect my supply so dramatically and cause engorgement, but will still provide several ounces a day with the number of feedings we're doing.
