Freaking out - Zika virus in Cancun?

So I'm having a bit of a panic attack. The husband and I just got back from a vacation to Cancun. On my second day of the trip, I got my BFP! Now I'm hearing all about the Zika virus and its effect on unborn babies, and I'm freaking out. Husband showed me some statistics and pointed out how incredibly unlikely it is that I would've been infected. I wore insect repellent most of the time, but I did get a few bites.

I've heard that doctors can test for infection, but the test takes 6-8 weeks, and even then the results are "unreliable," whatever that means.

Does anyone know a little more about this? I realize I probably have nothing to worry about, but I can't help it. Until I see that my baby is healthy and safe, I need something to alleviate my worries. Stress does the body no good. 😕

When you call the doctor, tell them where you've been. They may want to test you or send you to a specialist. The chance is low, but you'll want to be monitored nevertheless.

Most likely if u were staying in a resort they spray heavily. When I was in Jamaica year ago I didn't see a single bug when we were there. But I would just talk with you Doctor and tell them at the start
