One week ago I noticed a strange water like sack on my 4 week olds head, as soon as I seen it I took her into the ER, 3 doctors told us they had no clue what it was and did no tests, then on Saturday I took her to a much larger hospital near us and they ran A CTscan and we were treated much better there was a team of doctors caring for her and surgeons, we were sent home with a not completely sure diagnosis of a Cephalohematoma, we were told it was blood then told it wasn't . We had to follow up for an appointment on Wednesday (today) but they called Monday asking if we could come in ASAP for an ultrasound that day. Today the surgeon looked at her and she was dumbfounded as well. She said she believed it was blood and we should wait it out but it is getting larger and it may have to be drained. She is taking her CTscans and ultrasound scans to UofM for a team of Pediatric surgeons to re-evaluate them as well. My baby never hit her head and during delivery she never had a vaccuum used or forceps. The mass feels just like water beneath the surface, it lays under the scalp and above the skull. I'm so tired of people giving me diagnosis's saying "my friends baby had this, stop putting her through tests, it'll just go away." anyone ever seen this? Some babies are born with them but never usually get them this much after birth. Some of the most educated surgeons have seen her and a lot of them aren't completely sure of what's going on, I pray it's nothing too serious. Please just say a little prayer for my baby. 💕
