EBF 3 week old and not sure when to introduce bottle!?

Hello mommas,

I am a FTM and EBF our 3 1/2 week old. I have pumped a few times for emergency situations and want to introduce the bottle. I would like to introduce the bottle but not sure when? I would be devastated if this caused any sort of problem with latching or preference with little man. I do have a strong let down (he chokes and I have to lean back to stop the flow) so I am hoping that won't be a problem. We do give him the pacifier a lot so I am not sure if that has anything to do with anything.

Anyways, when should we introduce the bottle!?

Look up paced bottle feeding to avoid baby getting spoiled on the bottle or having any type of confusion. Lots of hospitals even teach it now. Just be sure to fully burp baby & it won't be a problem at all. It's how we bottle our baby (if and when we do) and he doesn't have any gas problems or latch problems or anything

I was EBF also until i got exhuasted being the only one who could feed her and having to stop everything i was doing in public to sit down to feed her. I am now exclusively pumping and love it! Besides the bottle washing haha i started my little girl on the bottle at almost 3 weeks, i got tommee tipee closer to nature bottles so it would be easier for her to transition from breast to bottle. I also return to work in two weeks so it was important for me to get her used to the bottle.  If you are going to pump and breastfeed i would say go ahead an introduce a bottle! Just get one thats supposed to be similar to your breasts, like the tommee tippee or some of the avent bottles.  My daughter also LOVES the munchkin LATCH bottles.
